Electronic scales work by the gravimetric principle; that is, the measurement to be obtained by reason of the mass placed thereon is subjected to gravity acceleration influence, symbolized by “g”. This factor varies mainly according to the latitude and altitude parameters from a location to another in the globe. The more accurate the equipment is, the higher the possibility for these factor to have an influence in weighing to the extent of being noticed. In other words: the better the instrument, the more visible the influence by “g” in weight readings.

This page aims at presenting the ratio of "g" in the Country’s main regions. With this information, the (analytical or semi-analytical) precision-scale user can determine the influence of “g” in their weighing process, if the scale has not been adjusted (calibrated) in their workplace.'
Find your city’s “g” or that from the closest one. Some cities have more than one measuring base. To make it easy, there is a column indicating the base altitude and, in the “Notes” column, there is a location reference. For example: in Presidente Prudente – SP, the acceleration is 9.785968 m/s², and in São Paulo, it is 9.786366 m/s². For a 1,000 g mass weighed in a scale in São Paulo, and then in the same scale without adjustment in Presidente Prudente, the difference would be -0.04 g, which is quite relevant for some applications.
Δm = M x ([gPRES. PRUD.] - [gSP]) / [gPRES. PRUD.]
Δm = 1.000 x ([9,785968] - [9,786366]) / [9,785968]
Δm = - 0,04g
Toledo do Brasil has a CGCRE/INMETRO-accredited Calibration Lab, based on Standard NBR ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and it is integrated to the RBC (Brazilian Calibration Network). It also has 20 branches located in the Countries main centers, with trained technicians to carry out RBC calibration services in weighing equipment.
